The Syllables Learning Center team is committed to supporting students in Maryland with one-on-one tutoring and teletherapy. We work with students of all ages and levels with dyslexia, ADHD, or related learning differences, as well as typical learners. Reading Proficiency Remains Out of Reach for Most Students
In July 2026, the Maryland State Board of Education released data from the Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program (MCAP). It showed that 48.6% of Grades 3-5 scored at or above “proficient” during the 2025-2026 school year. Despite gains over the past five years, over half of Maryland students aged 8-10 still struggle to read.
